A favorite restaurant in Irpinia has to be Ristorante Oasis Sapori Antichi, and not just because they've had a Michelin star 21 years running, which let's be honest is beyond impressive.
As the name suggests, The Fischetti Family has created an oasis in a small hilltop village, Vallesaccarda, where you can come and taste traditional dishes from Irpinia. Their focus is on seeking out local flavors and ingredients used in recipes passed down through their the generations in their family. They then create mouth-wateringly delicious dishes steeped in history and reinvented for their guests.
From the moment you walk in, you feel as though you've just stepped through the door into a friend's home in Southern Italy. (Okay - a really beautiful friend's house with some of the best food and wine ever, but how lucky are you to have friends like this?? But, I digress.) With a Fischetti family member at the helm of every aspect of your dining experience, from front of house, to sommelier, to chef, you know you're in for one of the best meals you can imagine.
The elegant, welcoming atmosphere along with the passion for celebrating all things Irpinia makes this restaurant a must-stop for any visitor to the area. Every member of the Fischetti Family is committed to promoting quality and traditions above all else.
Our Favorite Dish: If we had to choose just one dish I'd probably have to go with the Irpinia Black Truffle Ravioli (see pics above and below). It's just such a decadent flavor and beyond delicious. And let's be honest, who isn't a sucker for fresh truffles?!
